On September 19, Ménara Préfa, a subsidiary of Ménara Holding, inaugurated its new prefabricated products manufacturing unit in Safi, in the presence of Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour and Ménara Holding CEO Mohamed Zahid. This marks the company's fifth strategic site after Marrakech, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Béni Mellal, and Khouribga, reinforcing its position as a national leader in construction materials, reads a press release. Built with an investment of 90.8 million dirhams under a 2021 agreement with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the project integrates three production hubs: ready-mix concrete, hollow blocks/pavers/curbs, and pre-stressed beams. It is expected to generate 106 direct jobs and 159 indirect jobs, with an annual turnover of 107.64 million dirhams. Minister Mezzour stressed: «This project is part of a fast-growing prefabricated sector, which generated 16.23 billion dirhams in 2024, up 17% compared to 2022, and brings together more than 283 companies and 18,000 direct jobs. It illustrates the capacity of national investment to stimulate employment, create value, and consolidate Morocco's position as an industrial hub on the continent». Since its creation in 2002, Ménara Préfa has established itself as a key player in ready-mix concrete and prefabricated concrete products, with more than 1,100 employees and recognized expertise.
