Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch took part Thursday in New York in a FIFA meeting dedicated to the 2030 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal. Convened at the request of FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the meeting was attended by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel. Speaking to the press after the meeting, held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Akhannouch said it allowed the three host countries to review the progress of preparations for the global football showcase. He added that the meeting, which took place at FIFA's offices in Trump Tower, was also an opportunity to highlight Morocco's cutting-edge infrastructure, large-scale projects, and sweeping reforms in key sectors under the leadership of King Mohammed VI. The discussions also addressed the creation of the «Morocco 2030 Foundation», which will serve as an intermediary with the government to oversee the implementation of World Cup-related programs. Akhannouch concluded by stressing that the impact of these structural projects, designed to benefit citizens, will endure well beyond the 2030 World Cup.
