On Tuesday in Rabat, General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), warmly received Ghana's Chief of Defense Staff, William Agyapong, who is conducting a working visit to Morocco from September 28 to October 3. During their discussions, the two high-ranking officials committed to bolstering the partnership between the Royal Armed Forces and the Ghanaian Armed Forces. They explored various strategies to deepen and broaden this cooperation into new domains, as stated by the FAR. It is worth noting that Ghana suspended its recognition of the «Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR)» last January. This move is part of a diplomatic rapprochement that began in 2017, following King Mohammed VI's visit to Ghana. This political alignment is also enhancing military ties. Last April, the Royal Armed Forces sent a delegate to Accra to congratulate General William Agyapong on his recent appointment as the head of the Ghanaian Armed Forces.
