The government has responded to the demands voiced by young people and expressed its readiness to engage in dialogue and debate within institutions and public spaces, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch said Thursday in Rabat. Speaking at the opening of the Government Council meeting, Akhannouch stressed that the government, through all its political parties, has taken note of the concerns raised by youth and is committed to addressing these social demands, while remaining open to dialogue and debate in both institutional and public forums. He noted that the government has been closely monitoring the recent developments in several cities, which over the past two days have escalated into violent incidents threatening public security and order, leaving hundreds of law enforcement officers injured and causing extensive damage to public and private property. Akhannouch expressed regret over the deaths of three people in connection with these events and commended the work of the security forces, who he said continue to uphold their constitutional duty to protect public safety and order, while safeguarding individual and collective rights and freedoms. He reiterated that dialogue remains the only path to address the challenges facing Morocco and to accelerate the implementation of public policies tied to social demands, in order to achieve the collective aspirations of all Moroccans.
