The Kingdom of Morocco, whose Sovereign King Mohammed VI chairs the Al-Quds Committee, welcomes the announcement made by the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, regarding an agreement on a ceasefire in Gaza, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates said on Thursday. The Kingdom of Morocco expresses its high appreciation for the sustained initiatives and personal commitment of Donald Trump, which have played a decisive role in achieving this hopeful outcome, and commends the continued efforts of all mediators, the Ministry added in a statement. The Kingdom calls on all parties to fully implement this agreement in order to preserve human lives, secure the release of hostages and prisoners, ensure the swift and sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid, launch reconstruction efforts, and open the way toward a just, comprehensive, and lasting solution to the Palestinian cause. The Kingdom of Morocco reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the two-state solution as the only basis for achieving a just and lasting peace in the region. This entails the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with Al-Quds Acharif as its capital, including the Gaza Strip, living side by side with the State of Israel in peace and security, the statement continued. Likewise, the Kingdom reiterates its full readiness to actively contribute to all agreed-upon stages and processes aimed at guaranteeing the rights of the Palestinian people and supporting stability in the Middle East region, the statement concluded.
