Security forces in Tangier are intensifying efforts to locate the main suspect in the murder of a young man in his twenties, after he escaped during a crime reenactment in a forested area of Tanja El Balia, Assabah reported. The suspect's sudden flight caused confusion among security personnel and widespread shock among residents. According to the same source, the fugitive took advantage of a brief moment during the reenactment to flee into the nearby forest, vanishing among the trees. The incident immediately triggered a large-scale manhunt involving judicial police units, police dogs, and intelligence teams, who have been combing the forest, surrounding neighborhoods, and city entrances amid growing tension and anticipation. In response, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) has launched an internal investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the escape and assess any procedural lapses. As for the case itself, investigations revealed that the victim had been brutally assaulted during a robbery attempt, succumbing to severe head injuries. Police subsequently identified and arrested two individuals suspected of involvement in the crime. Both are currently being held in custody under the supervision of the public prosecutor's office as investigations continue.
