The Royal Moroccan Federation for Sport for All (FRMSPT) announced on Monday in Mohammedia the organization of the «Green March Symbolic Relay Race», which will link Tangier to Bir Guendouz (Aousserd Province) from October 15 to November 6, as part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Green March. The race will take place over 16 stages with the participation of Olympic and world champions, said Nezha Bidouane, President of the FRMSPT, during a press conference. She added that the event, rich in patriotic significance, will conclude in Dakhla. «More than just a sporting competition, this race showcases Morocco's ability to unite its people around a project that carries universal values», Bidouane stated. She also highlighted its role in promoting the touristic, economic, cultural, and civilizational potential of the southern provinces and showcasing the major development projects underway across the country. This initiative, she noted, aligns with King Mohammed VI's vision to promote sport for all and to anchor a culture of sportsmanship as a driver of unity and social progress. It stands as a symbolic celebration of the largest peaceful march in modern history. Athlete Hasna Benhassi expressed her pride in taking part in an event commemorating «an occasion deeply cherished by all Moroccans», while Paralympic shot-put champion Leila El Garaâ shared the same enthusiasm. The race will pass through 16 cities: Tangier, Larache, Rabat, Casablanca, El Jadida, Safi, Essaouira, Agadir, Tiznit, Guelmim, Tan-Tan, Tarfaya, Laâyoune, Boujdour, Bir Guendouz, and will end in Dakhla.
