Last Thursday, the judicial police in Kenitra referred six individuals, including a woman, to the public prosecutor at the primary court, after dismantling an international network involved in luring clients for sexual purposes, filming them, and producing pornographic content for sale on global platforms. The network was uncovered by coincidence after a young woman filed a complaint claiming that her bank account had been hacked and 15,000 dirhams transferred without her authorization. When investigators seized her phone for technical examination, they discovered videos and photos of sexual acts, including same-sex encounters, filmed inside an apartment in Kenitra. It was later revealed that the complainant herself was the main suspect, accused of broadcasting pornographic content online for profit, with the help of four others responsible for editing and production, according to Assabah newspaper. Preliminary investigations indicated that the group lured victims within the city, shared the proceeds based on the «services» rendered, and engaged in what authorities described as «transcontinental virtual sex». The public prosecutor charged the suspects with several offenses, including incitement to prostitution, production and distribution of pornographic material, public indecency, facilitating prostitution, theft, breach of trust, and fraud. Five of the defendants were remanded in custody at the Kenitra local prison pending further investigation. Security services are awaiting digital forensic analyses from the General Directorate of National Security's cyber laboratory to identify the origin of the videos and potential international beneficiaries. The case hearing has been postponed to November 13.
