Rabat is set to add a new tourist attraction to its offerings with two amphibious buses capable of operating both on land and water. The innovative project, led by Rabat Région Mobilité, aims to enrich the capital's tourism experience with unique sightseeing tours across city streets and the Bouregreg River. According to the local development company, the project, which covers supply, commissioning, and maintenance, is valued at 23 million dirhams, media reported on Wednesday. Each bus will feature panoramic seating for optimal views of Rabat's urban and coastal landscapes, multilingual audio guides synchronized for both land and water modes, and accessibility features for people with reduced mobility. The vehicles will also include modern amenities such as ventilation, connectivity, and ergonomic seating. Built with marine corrosion-resistant bodywork and advanced safety systems for seamless land-to-water transitions, the buses are designed to offer passengers a comfortable and secure experience. The project will roll out over 50 months, including a 14-month phase for delivery and launch, followed by a three-year phase for maintenance, follow-up, and potential expansion.
