Morocco has reached a new seasonal record for tomato exports to Ireland, doubling last year's volumes, according to EastFruit. Between October 2024 and August 2025, Morocco shipped 3,400 tons of tomatoes worth USD 7.5 million, its highest level ever and 62% above the previous record set in 2020/21. While Ireland still accounts for less than 1% of Morocco's tomato exports, it is becoming one of the fastest-growing destinations, alongside Scandinavian markets. This season's peak was recorded in January with 542 tons. The rise comes as Ireland diversifies suppliers amid declining UK re-exports post-Brexit. Morocco, now Ireland's fourth-largest supplier, reached a record 10% share of Irish imports this season, bringing it closer to the European leaders. Morocco's direct shipments continue to grow, reinforcing its position as a competitive supplier in Northern Europe.
