On the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, commemorated on November 25, King Mohammed VI addressed a message to Coly Seck, the President of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People. The King underscored that the ultimate objective is to establish a climate of security, stability, and prosperity for all the peoples of the region. To achieve this, efforts must adhere to clear standards and be executed within a reasonable timeframe, Mohammed VI emphasized in his message. He recalled that following the two-year conflict that ravaged Gaza, diplomatic efforts led to a ceasefire agreement that «we hope to see fully implemented in all its phases». This, he noted, would «stop the killing machine and alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people by ensuring the smooth and sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid destined for them». «This will also pave the way for the urgent launch of the reconstruction process and ultimately open up prospects for a just and comprehensive political settlement of the Palestinian issue», the monarch added. He further commended President Donald Trump for his decisive role in achieving this goal, while also acknowledging the efforts of all mediators involved. The King affirmed that Morocco, committed to peace, is prepared to contribute to all stages and processes agreed upon within the framework of the latest ceasefire agreement. He stressed that any international effort must be guided by key fundamentals: ensuring the unity of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, both politically and administratively, under the supervision of the Palestinian National Authority. The aim is for these territories to form an integral part of the envisioned Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, supporting the Palestinian National Authority under President Mahmoud Abbas, and enhancing its political, administrative, and financial capacities. This also involves bolstering the Palestinian economy by removing barriers to the free movement of goods, capital, and people; fostering Palestinian reconciliation for national unity under the auspices of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), and engaging in earnest negotiations between the parties towards a two-state solution. The goal is to establish a sovereign Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living peacefully and securely alongside the State of Israel.
