DR ‹ › Snowfall, heavy rain occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms, and cold weather are expected from Saturday to Monday in several provinces across the Kingdom, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) announced. According to an orange-level alert bulletin issued by the DGM, snowfall ranging from 10 to 20 cm above 1,700 meters is forecast on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the provinces of Ifrane, Khenifra, Midelt, Taza, Sefrou, Boulemane, and Beni Mellal. In addition, snow accumulation of 20 to 40 cm above 1,500 meters is expected from Sunday at noon until Monday at 11:00 p.m. in Midelt, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Khenifra, Boulemane, Ifrane, Sefrou, Taza, and Guercif, the statement added. Snowfall of 5 to 15 cm above 1,500 meters is also forecast over the same period in the provinces of Taourirt, Al Hoceima, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Al Haouz, Figuig, Jerada, and Chefchaouen. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall of 35 to 60 mm, at times accompanied by thunderstorms, is expected from Sunday at midnight until Monday at 9:00 a.m. in Taza, Tetouan, Taounate, Fahs-Anjra, Larache, Tangier-Assilah, Ouezzane, M'diq-Fnideq, Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Al Hoceima, and Chefchaouen, according to the DGM. The same weather conditions, with rainfall amounts ranging between 25 and 35 mm, are forecast during the same period in Driouch, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Khenifra, Fez, Sefrou, Khemisset, Rabat, Sidi Slimane, Moulay Yaacoub, Salé, Skhirate-Témara, and Meknes. Finally, cold weather is expected from Saturday to Sunday in areas above 1,600 meters, with temperatures ranging between -8°C and -4°C, affecting the provinces of Boulemane, Ifrane, Midelt, Khenifra, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Al Haouz, Taroudant, and Chichaoua, the statement concluded.
