DR ‹ › Olympique de Marseille (OM) has unveiled a new jersey collection designed to honor African diasporas, as part of the celebrations surrounding the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025), which kicked off on Sunday in Rabat. Titled «Marseille, c'est nous», the collection features a series of jerseys inspired by the colors and patterns of the Moroccan, Senegalese, Ivorian, Tunisian, Congolese, and Comorian diasporas, the club said. According to OM, this initiative is a first in football history, introducing «jerseys with a dual identity, half club and half national team». «They unite the teams closest to the hearts of Marseille's African diaspora and celebrate the Africa Cup from Europe», the club emphasized. Designed by a Marseille-based designer of Senegalese origin, the collection is intended as a symbolic initiative at the crossroads of football, culture, and identity. Each jersey incorporates the colors and cultural symbols of the nation it represents, while remaining anchored in Olympique de Marseille's visual identity. As the 35th edition of AFCON opened on Sunday with a vibrant ceremony, OM said it wanted to «celebrate the continental competition from Europe». The «Marseille, c'est nous» initiative also highlights local Marseille figures in iconic locations across the city, reinforcing the connection between Marseille and Africa, notably without the presence of a commercial sponsor. Among the designs, the Moroccan-inspired jersey features the phrase «Hna Marsilia» Moroccan Arabic for «We are Marseille», proudly displayed as a tribute to the Atlas Lions. This visual approach, the club concluded, «illustrates the idea that OM's identity is a mosaic. It is the combination of these cultures, stories, and diverse roots that define Olympique de Marseille».
