The match was marked by a missed penalty for Mali in the 42nd minute. With this draw, Mali and Zambia both sit in second place in Group A, each with a single point. Morocco tops the group with 3 points, while the Comoros are trailing with none. In the other group fixture, Morocco secured a 2-0 victory over the Comoros on Sunday, kicking off the continental tournament, which runs until January 18. Looking ahead to the second round of matches, Morocco will take on Mali on Friday at 9:00 PM at Rabat's Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.
