DR ‹ › The national exhibition «60 Years of Painting in Morocco» will open on January 6, 2026, in Rabat. Showcasing six decades of artistic creation in the Kingdom, the exhibition brings together works by pioneering figures and contemporary artists, according to a press release from the Moroccan Union of Professional Visual Artists, the event's organizer. A high-quality art book will accompany the exhibition, extending its reach and preserving its legacy. The opening in Rabat will take place across four emblematic venues: the Bab Rouah National Gallery, the Villa des Arts – Al Mada Foundation, the Bank Al-Maghrib Museum, and the Bab El Kébir Gallery in the Oudayas. Launching the cultural season of 2026, this traveling exhibition will then move on to several major cities, including Casablanca, Tangier, Marrakech, and Laâyoune. Professional galleries are also taking part in the initiative, including Dar d'Art Gallery and Kent Gallery in Tangier; Eden Art Gallery, Loft Art Gallery, Myriem Himmich Gallery, and Galerie 38 in Casablanca; as well as Noir sur Blanc Gallery and Khalid Fine Arts in Marrakech. The exhibition aims to highlight the evolution of Moroccan painting, its aesthetic richness, the diversity of its forms of expression, and the vitality of successive artistic generations. The event also serves as a tribute to the artists who have helped shape Morocco's artistic heritage. It underscores the fundamental role of visual arts in the country's cultural development and influence, both nationally and internationally. At the same time, it offers a vibrant panorama in which established figures and emerging talents are brought into dialogue. The exhibition is organized with the support of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, in partnership with the Bank Al-Maghrib Museum and the Villa des Arts – Al Mada Foundation.
