DR ‹ › The primary criminal chamber of the Court of Appeal in Marrakech has handed down its verdicts in the case involving those prosecuted over the riots and acts of vandalism linked to the protests known as «Generation Z», handing down prison sentences ranging from two to six years of effective imprisonment. The rulings included six-year prison terms for three defendants, four years for two others, and three years for another group of defendants. In addition, 11 defendants were sentenced to two years in prison, with one year of the sentence suspended. The defendants faced a wide range of serious charges, including the deliberate arson of buildings and vehicles, forming a criminal gang to commit felonies against property, aggravated theft, violence against public officials, damage to public facilities, possession of weapons posing a threat to public safety, and participation in unauthorized demonstrations.
