DR ‹ › Classes are suspended on Friday afternoon and Saturday across all public and private educational institutions in Agadir Ida-Outanane, the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports announced. The decision follows an alert bulletin issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM), forecasting significant weather disturbances, including heavy rainfall accompanied at times by strong winds. These conditions are expected to affect several areas of the Souss-Massa region. As part of the same preventive and exceptional measures, classes are also suspended on Friday and Saturday in all public and private schools in Essaouira province. Similar measures were taken in Taroudant, Tiznit and Chtouka Ait Baha, where the Provincial Directorates of National Education likewise announced the temporary suspension of classes due to the same weather alerts. According to the provincial directorates, the decision aims to ensure the safety of students, as well as teaching, educational, and administrative staff. The measures were adopted in line with the recommendations of the provincial monitoring units, in close coordination with local authorities and all relevant stakeholders. As a reminder, the DGM has issued a red-level alert warning of heavy rainfall—particularly over mountainous areas—ranging between 80 and 120 mm. The rainfall is expected from Friday at 5:00 p.m. until Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in the provinces of Agadir Ida-Outanane, Taroudant, and Essaouira. Article modifié le 02/01/2026 à 17h16
