Sabri Boukadoum, Algerian ambassador to Washington / DR ‹ › Algeria has stepped up its lobbying efforts in the United States in a bid to secure an invitation for President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to the «Peace Council», similar to the one extended to Mohammed VI by U.S. President Donald Trump. In this context, Algeria's ambassador to Washington, Sabri Boukadoum, has increased meetings with senior officials from the BGR Group. The firm has been representing Algerian interests in the United States since September 2024, according to information obtained by Yabiladi from a source close to the matter. The Algerian authorities' decision to hire BGR Group is reportedly linked to the firm's close ties to Donald Trump's Republican Party and to Israel. Since the signing of the contract, Algerian diplomacy has adopted a noticeably more conciliatory tone toward the Hebrew state. It is worth recalling that in February 2025, President Tebboune stated in an interview with a French media outlet that Algeria would be ready to normalize relations with Israel «on the very day a Palestinian state is established». Algeria has recently extended its contract with BGR Group until September 9, 2026.
