DR ‹ › On Thursday in Rabat, the presidents of the French National Assembly and Senate reaffirmed France's support for Morocco's territorial integrity during the fifth session of the Moroccan-French Parliamentary Forum. This position, previously expressed by President Emmanuel Macron in a message to King Mohammed VI on July 30, 2024, and reiterated during his address to the Moroccan Parliament on October 29, 2024, was once again underscored. The session concluded at the House of Representatives with the adoption of a final declaration under the joint presidency of the heads of both chambers of the Moroccan Parliament and their French counterparts, with the participation of parliamentary group leaders, foreign affairs committees, and Morocco–France friendship groups. In this context, the presidents of the four legislative assemblies welcomed the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2797 on October 31, 2025, and called on all parties to fully engage in its implementation. Moroccan parliamentarians expressed their «sincere gratitude» to France for its clear support of the Kingdom's territorial integrity. Both sides agreed to highlight the strategic potential of Morocco's Saharan regions as a framework for strengthening bilateral cooperation under a reinforced exceptional partnership. They stressed the importance of prioritizing these regions for sectoral cooperation, particularly in ecological transition, sustainable resource management, human capital development, and youth opportunities. Partnerships in water, energy, sustainable agriculture, infrastructure, training, research, and innovation were encouraged, in line with Morocco's development model for the southern provinces. The forum also praised effective Moroccan-French cooperation in combating terrorism and transnational organized crime, commending close coordination between security services while respecting human rights. Participants noted that the Declaration on the Strengthened Exceptional Partnership, signed by King Mohammed VI and President Macron, opens new prospects for cooperation, particularly in economic development, infrastructure, green energy, and seawater desalination. They also welcomed joint efforts within multilateral frameworks, especially at the Euro-African level. Finally, the forum praised reforms led by King Mohammed VI in favor of women's rights and reaffirmed the commitment of both parliaments to strengthening cooperation and parliamentary diplomacy.
