DR ‹ › The UK's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has updated its travel guidance for Morocco, warning British nationals planning to visit the country of severe weather conditions affecting several regions. In its latest travel advice issued on February 4, the FCDO noted that Morocco's General Directorate of Meteorology has issued red-level weather alerts due to exceptionally heavy rainfall, storm activity, and a heightened risk of flooding, stressing that the situation is evolving on a daily basis. The FCDO advises travelers to closely monitor official weather updates and underlines that no travel can be guaranteed to be safe. Visitors are also encouraged to stay informed by subscribing to FCDO travel alerts and consulting official guidance before and during their stay in Morocco. Morocco has recently been hit by exceptionally heavy rainfall and storms, leading to flooding, particularly in the northern regions. Local authorities have responded by evacuating several affected neighborhoods, including the full evacuation of the city of Ksar El Kebir, after rising water levels in the Loukkos River inundated large parts of the city.
