DR ‹ › Classes will remain suspended on Thursday in all public and private educational institutions under the Regional Academy of Education and Training of Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (AREF). In a statement issued on Wednesday, the provincial directorates of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports in Tangier-Assilah, M'diq-Fnideq, Tetouan, Ouazzane, Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima, Fahs-Anjra, and Larache said the decision was taken due to the «continued adverse weather conditions affecting northern Morocco». The directorates explained that the measure follows an alert bulletin issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology and was adopted in line with recommendations from provincial monitoring committees, in coordination with local authorities. The decision aims to ensure the safety of students, administrative and teaching staff, and all school users. Given the exceptional situation in parts of the Tanger–Tétouan–Al Hoceima region, particularly Ksar El Kébir, which has been severely affected by recent flooding, the AREF urged school administrators, both public and private, to welcome students from Ksar El Kébir and other flood-affected areas. These students will be allowed to attend classes temporarily without restriction until conditions improve. The academy stressed that this measure seeks to safeguard students' right to education, allow them to continue their schooling in safe and appropriate conditions, and ensure educational continuity during this exceptional period.
