This agreement, endorsed by INRA Director Lamiae Ghaouti and ACIAR Research Program Manager Rita Ritchie during an official visit by an ACIAR delegation led by Australia's Ambassador to Morocco, Damian Donovan, is a key component of the Africa-Australia Climate-Adapted Agriculture Cooperation Program (AAPCRA). It aligns with Morocco's national strategy, «Generation Green 2020-2030». Under this MoU, both parties are set to lay the groundwork for a structured collaboration, concentrating on joint agricultural research initiatives, capacity building, training, and the exchange of expertise and innovations in climate-smart agriculture. The partnership also aims to foster networking among researchers, enhance the application of scientific findings, and promote collaborative strategies for sustainable and resilient agriculture. Additionally, a letter of intent was signed between Ghaouti and Donovan, marking a significant milestone in advancing research and innovation. In a statement to MAP after the meeting, Ambassador Donovan highlighted Australia's dedication to supporting scientific research and agricultural innovation to bolster food security and the resilience of agricultural systems. INRA Director Ghaouti remarked that this partnership would facilitate the implementation of joint projects in key areas such as climate-resilient agriculture, water efficiency, drought management, pasture management, and conservation agriculture.
