DR ‹ › Authorities in the province of Larache have announced the launch of a coordinated and secure return operation for residents who were temporarily evacuated following the heavy rains and exceptional flooding that struck the region. A detailed plan has been put in place to organize the return in successive phases, with dedicated transportation, secured routes, and on-the-ground supervision. The operation will begin this Sunday and will initially cover several neighborhoods and residential complexes in Ksar El Kébir. These include Bab El Oued, Gharsa Benjelloun, Chariâ, Salam, and Jadid, along with other sectors across the city's six administrative annexes, for a total of 17 neighborhoods. To support residents, free train services will operate from 7 a.m. between Tanger Ville station and Ksar El Kebir. Buses will also be deployed from various points across the region to ensure free transportation for those affected. The aim is to guarantee a safe and orderly return for all families. Authorities stressed that only the areas listed in the official communiqué are currently authorized for return. Residents from other sectors must wait for an official announcement, in order to avoid risks linked to remaining floodwaters and to ensure that adequate reception conditions are in place. Checkpoints will be installed at entry points to the affected areas to ensure that only authorized individuals access the designated neighborhoods, thereby maintaining the smooth and secure implementation of the operation.
