DR ‹ › In-person classes resumed on Tuesday in several schools in Mechra Bel Ksiri after weather conditions improved in the region. The schools that have reopened include Bel Ksiri High School, Moulay Rachid High School, and Jamal Eddine Al-Afghani School. The resumption follows the completion of the first two phases of the operation to return residents to their homes, made possible by improved weather and receding floodwaters that had affected several areas of the province. Speaking to MAP, Aicha Touil, principal of Bel Ksiri High School, said that after overcoming the difficult circumstances faced by the province, schools are gradually returning to normal operations. She added that the high school had ensured distance learning for students during the crisis, while also contributing to relief efforts by providing shelter to residents from surrounding villages in the Mechra Bel Ksiri area. As part of precautionary measures taken in response to the Sebou River flooding in Sidi Kacem province, Bel Ksiri and Moulay Rachid High Schools, along with Jamal Eddine Al-Afghani School, were temporarily mobilized to accommodate residents from communes within the Mechra Bel Ksiri district. Meanwhile, the Sidi Kacem provincial authorities announced the completion of measures to ensure the gradual and organized return of citizens who had been temporarily evacuated due to the severe weather. The return process concerned the neighborhoods of Laymoun and Bioutat, as well as the villages of Achnakla Meks, Ouled Ammar Meks (Selfat commune), Miadma, Ben Amara 2 (Tekna), Maarif Sadra, Qnadla Nakhla, Ouled Messaoud (Moulay Abdelkader), Ouled Sebah, Ouled Yaakoub, Ouled Jatti, Ouled Hammad, Ouled Hamdan, El Hamniyin, Ouled Touijer, El Kamna, and Dghoughyine (Sidi Azzouz).
