DR ‹ › Justice Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi met on Tuesday in Rabat with his Dutch counterpart, David van Weel, who is on a working visit to Morocco leading a high-level delegation, to discuss strengthening the strategic partnership in the justice sector. The meeting reflects both countries' ambition to elevate their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership based on mutual trust and enhanced cooperation in priority areas, in line with the Joint Declaration adopted on December 5, 2025, in The Hague. On this occasion, the two ministers explored ways to deepen cooperation in security, particularly in the fight against terrorism and transnational organized crime. This includes provisions for regular bilateral dialogue and the establishment of dedicated institutional mechanisms, notably a joint commission on counterterrorism. On migration, Ouahbi and van Weel reaffirmed their commitment to continued coordination within a comprehensive and balanced framework. They also stressed the importance of strengthening technical cooperation, training programs, and the exchange of expertise, particularly through government cooperation initiatives aimed at modernizing legal and judicial systems. Cooperation also extends to family and women's issues. The joint commission, set to meet in the coming days, will address these priorities with a view to identifying comprehensive solutions. A follow-up meeting could be held in Amsterdam or Rabat to finalize agreements ensuring more effective handling of these issues.
