DR ‹ › Visa has marked a symbolic milestone in its dedication to Africa. On the sidelines of GITEX Africa in Marrakech, the payment giant unveiled 18 fintech startups from 10 countries during the Demo Day of the 5th cohort of its Africa Fintech Accelerator, pushing the total number of supported startups to over 100 since the program's launch. These startups, active in 28 markets, showcase the sector's diversity and dynamism, offering solutions that address a broad spectrum of payment and financial service needs. To date, the 104 supported startups boast a combined valuation of $1.4 billion. Beyond providing support, Visa is fostering synergies among industry players. In Morocco, Zazu is collaborating with Chari to launch a neobank tailored for SMEs. Credable is crafting digital credit offerings with Onafriq, leveraging Visa Flexible Credential to expand access to financing. Meanwhile, Kredete is accelerating the rollout of its stablecoin-backed cards across Africa and the Middle East, and MoneyHash is boosting its payment capabilities through a partnership with Visa Cybersource in the MENA region. African fintechs have until May 17, 2026, to apply for the 6th cohort.
