DR ‹ › Author Reem Yasmina Laghrari presented her two latest works, «Discovering Islam and Muslims – The Abecedary» and «The Prophets in the Light of the Quran and the Bible», on Wednesday evening in Paris. Published by Le Relié, the books were unveiled during a meet-and-greet held at the Moroccan Embassy in Paris, in the presence of the Deputy Head of Mission, Nassim Tourougui, and several cultural figures. In «The Prophets in the Light of the Quran and the Bible», Laghrari retraces the history of the prophets in Islam, drawing on a rigorous historical approach that combines archaeological insights with spiritual reflection. She also spoke about her second book, «Discovering Islam and Muslims – The Abecedary», co-authored with French writer Eric de Kermel. This work aims to build bridges between the two shores of the Mediterranean, presenting nearly 70 key concepts related to Islam and Muslim culture, while clarifying terms that are often misunderstood, even among practitioners. The two books mark Laghrari's third and fourth publications, following her novel «Lalla tam – The Time of a Twilight», inspired by her grandmother's life, and her short story collection «Prescriptions and Confidences, at the Pharmacist's Counter». Born in the United States, Laghrari holds a doctorate in pharmacy and lives and works in Morocco. Passionate about cultural and religious issues, she seeks to build bridges between spiritual traditions and highlight the connections between religions.
