King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, has called on Moroccan pilgrims to embody the sublime values of Islam, which include sincere brotherhood, absolute tolerance, patient kindness, and active solidarity. In a message addressed on Wednesday to the national pilgrims traveling to the Holy Places of Islam for the year 1446 (AH), the sovereign urged the travelers to be worthy representatives of their country, Morocco, and «of its ancient civilization, proudly carried by your ancestors throughout history». «A civilization founded on unity, symbiosis, and adherence to national constants and sacred symbols, marked by moderation and doctrinal unity», the king continued in this message, which was read by the Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq, on the occasion of the departure of the first group of pilgrims from Rabat-Salé airport. The sovereign added that «it is these constants and immutable values that have ensured security and stability for our country and have allowed it to continue, under Our enlightened guidance, its victorious marches towards greater progress and prosperity». Furthermore, the king emphasized that he has instructed the minister to ensure proper management of the organizational and logistical aspects of this rite, as well as those related to the religious preparation and spiritual awareness of the pilgrims. To this end, the ministry has dispatched teams of multidisciplinary personnel to accompany the pilgrims both to and from the pilgrimage: scholars, guides, doctors, and nurses, both men and women, as well as administrators. Additionally, the sovereign reminded the pilgrims of the obligation to comply with the organizational measures adopted by the competent authorities in Saudi Arabia.
