On the occasion of France's national holiday, French Ambassador to Morocco Christophe Lecourtier hosted a reception at the French Residence in Rabat. The event welcomed more than 2,500 guests from the diplomatic, economic, cultural, and institutional spheres. Ambassador Lecourtier was joined by Olivier Ramadour, Consul General of France in Rabat, and Navy Captain Damien Lopez, the embassy's defense attaché. In his remarks, the ambassador reflected on the pivotal meeting held in October 2024 between the President of the French Republic and King Mohammed VI. «What the President and His Majesty discussed—and entrusted us with—compels us to build something exceptional», he stated. «In a world in crisis and a region searching for direction, we are going to forge a unique partnership together». Addressing the issue of the Sahara, Lecourtier added, «Starting this year, residents of the southern provinces will benefit from the same services and support as those in other parts of Morocco. Internationally and through concrete actions, France supports and will continue to fully support Moroccan sovereignty». Among the notable attendees were Mohamed Saad Berrada, representing the Moroccan government, and Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform. The evening featured outstanding musical performances, including a set by OUM, a celebrated figure in Moroccan music, and the Dakhla Casa Express project, which brings together artists Anas Chlih and Nadir Khairi (NDRK), representing Casablanca and Dakhla.
