The Government Council, which convened on Thursday in Rabat, has given the green light to draft decree 2.25.484. This legislation addresses the distribution, export, and import of cinematographic films, as well as the issuance of commercial and cultural exploitation visas and the management of cinema halls. Presented by the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, the decree sets out the procedures for applying for film distribution authorizations, according to Mustapha Baitas, the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament and Government Spokesperson. Baitas provided these details during a press briefing following the Council meeting. The decree also outlines the steps for obtaining authorization to import or export films for commercial purposes. Additionally, it includes procedures for importing films intended for screening at festivals, cinema events, or cultural activities, as Baitas highlighted.
