Last Friday, the Court of Appeal in Rabat's First Criminal Chamber sentenced a 43-year-old military officer, a First Sergeant, to four years in prison. He was convicted of attempting to sexually assault an 8-year-old boy at a football academy in Temara. According to reports from Al-Akhbar, the incident occurred in December 2024. The Royal Gendarmerie began an investigation after receiving a report, prompted by the victim's testimony. The child told authorities that the accused had behaved inappropriately towards him in the school's locker room. This account was corroborated by statements from club members and surveillance camera footage capturing the incident. The accused had been at the club accompanying his son and exploited his presence to isolate and assault the young victim.
