The appellate criminal chamber of the Court of Appeal in El Jadida has upheld the initial verdict against a sports administrator, sentencing him to eight years in prison for the felony of indecent assault on a minor without violence. The decision followed legal proceedings against the accused, who had been in custody during the trial, according to Assabah. The case began with a complaint filed by the minor's mother to the public prosecutor, accusing the sports administrator of luring her son and assaulting him inside one of the offices at a football stadium in El Jadida. The complaint was corroborated by a night guard who testified that he saw the accused enter a dark area accompanied by a minor. Following the complaint, the public prosecutor instructed the regional judicial police's public morals division to launch an investigation. During questioning, the accused confessed to the charges and admitted that he had planned to lure the boy after a training session, leading him into an office to assault him. Investigators also found that the accused used his position at the club to ask the child to help him carry balls and sports equipment, providing an opportunity to isolate and abuse him. The victim's mother also alleged that the administrator had assaulted other children over the years, although no previous victims had come forward. The 12-year-old boy, who plays in the junior division of the club where the accused worked, was interviewed during the investigation.
