The traveling exhibition «Belgica Biladi: A Belgo-Moroccan Story» is set to grace the Nador promenade from August 15 to 24, 2025, under the auspices of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME). Initially unveiled in Brussels in May 2024 in French, the exhibition has been translated into Arabic by the CCME, with its grand opening scheduled for Friday, August 15, 2025, at 5 PM. After Nador, the exhibition will head to Saïdia from September 1 to 15, and then to Al Hoceïma from September 22 to 30. This initiative commemorates the sixtieth anniversary of the 1964 labor agreement between Morocco and Belgium. As stated by the institution, it serves as a «tribute to the journeys of the pioneers of this immigration, as well as to their children and their numerous contributions to Belgian society across various fields such as literature, theater, cinema, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, media, and politics». Driss El Yazami, President of the CCME, emphasizes that «this initiative tells a story of sacrifices, struggles for dignity, and cultural integration, while also highlighting the dialogue between two countries and societies». Alongside the exhibition, local associations in Nador will provide a range of complementary cultural activities. Originally initiated by the Free University of Brussels (ULB) in collaboration with the City of Brussels, the exhibition's move to Nador is supported by contributions from the province, the Marchica Lagoon Development Agency, the municipality, the Cooperative Studies Center for Local Development (CECODEL), the Thissaghnas Association for Culture and Development (ASTICUDE), the Rif Cinema Club, and the Circle of Belgian Laureates (CLB). In its commitment to honor the six-decade milestone of the agreement, the CCME has previously released seven publications and organized two exhibitions focusing on Belgo-Moroccans: «J'ai deux amours» (a collective anthology), «Reviens me dire je t'aime» by Fatiha Saidi and Saïd Ben Ali, «Raconte-le à quelqu'un» by Rachida Lamrabet, «Echos de la mémoire sur les montagnes du Rif» by Fatiha Saidi, «Entre deux rives: Histoires parallèles, destins croisés» by Hassan Bousetta, «Moussem Belgica – Histoires transnationales» by Mohamed Ikoubaân (traveling exhibition and catalog), and «Belgica Biladi, a Belgo-Moroccan Story» (exhibition and book), directed by Ahmed Medhoune, Fatima Zibouh, Andrea Rea, and Christophe Sokal.
