A scorching heatwave fueled by chergui winds is expected to sweep across several Moroccan provinces from Wednesday to Saturday, with temperatures potentially reaching 47°C. The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) announced the forecast in an orange-level weather alert. According to the DGM, temperatures between 44°C and 47°C are anticipated in Tata, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Boujdour, and Oued Ed-Dahab during this period. On Wednesday and Thursday, highs of 42°C to 44°C are expected in Ouezzane, Fès, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, Meknès, Sidi Kacem, Khémisset, Sidi Slimane, Fquih Ben Salah, Beni Mellal, Khouribga, Azilal, Settat, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Youssoufia, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Marrakech, Rehamna, Taroudant, Guelmim, and Laâyoune. Meanwhile, temperatures ranging from 38°C to 42°C are forecast for Taza, El Hajeb, Sefrou, Khénifra, Médiouna, Nouaceur, and the inland areas of Tanger-Assilah, Larache, Kénitra, Salé, Skhirat-Témara, Berrechid, El Jadida, Benslimane, Sidi Bennour, and Safi. On Friday and Saturday, temperatures are expected to range from 39°C to 44°C in Ouezzane, Meknès, Fès, Sefrou, Moulay Yacoub, El Hajeb, Taza, Taounate, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Khémisset, Beni Mellal, Khénifra, Khouribga, Azilal, Fquih Ben Salah, Settat, Rehamna, Chichaoua, Al Haouz, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Marrakech, Youssoufia, Taroudant, and Guelmim.
