Two firefighters were injured on Tuesday while battling a forest fire near Granja on the outskirts of Chefchaouen. One sustained a facial injury, while the other suffered a broken leg. Both were quickly transported to Mohammed V Hospital for treatment. Two major blazes broke out the same day in the forests of Granja and Bab Taza, destroying vast areas of trees and vegetation. Firefighting teams, equipped with specialized machinery, were deployed to contain the flames under challenging conditions made worse by soaring temperatures. Regional authorities activated an emergency response plan, mobilizing local officials and community volunteers to protect nearby homes and farms from the advancing fire. Meanwhile in Tetouan, a large forest fire erupted in the mountainous area of Ben Karrich, consuming extensive tracts of vegetation. Fire crews remain on the ground working to bring the blaze under control.
