A Spanish citizen of Moroccan origin died on Monday at the University Hospital in Ceuta, nearly a month after being admitted to intensive care following a violent assault in Larache. The victim, who had not returned to his hometown in 20 years and was living in Spain, remained in a coma for 25 days after suffering a stroke caused by the attack. He leaves behind two young children residing in Spain. According to local media, the man was struck on the back of the head with a metal object before being taken to Princess Lalla Meryem Hospital in Larache, which refused to admit him. He was later transferred to Mohammed V Hospital in Tangier, before his family arranged for his move to Ceuta, where he was admitted as a Spanish national. Relatives allege that the assailants were part of a gang of teenagers notorious for drug use and street thefts in Larache. The attack reportedly took place in a neighborhood known as a hotspot for crime, drug trafficking, and alcohol consumption. The victim's family has filed an official complaint, demanding justice and strict enforcement of the law. One suspect has already been arrested in connection with the case.
