Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, received Major General Moussa Salaou Barmou, Chief of Staff of the Nigerien Armed Forces, on Tuesday at FAR General Staff headquarters. General Barmou is in Morocco for an official working visit from September 21 to 27, leading a high-level military delegation. Talks between the Inspector General of the FAR and the Chief of Staff of the Nigerien Armed Forces took place in the presence of senior department heads from FAR General Staff on the Moroccan side, and, on the Nigerien side, members of the official delegation and the defense attaché from the Nigerien Embassy in Rabat, according to a statement from FAR General Staff. On this occasion, the two leaders highlighted the exceptional quality of relations between the FAR and the Nigerien Armed Forces, built on deep fraternal ties and a spirit of mutual respect, the same source noted. Military cooperation between Morocco and Niger covers a wide range of areas, including training, operational force preparation, military health, and the exchange of visits and expertise, the statement concluded.
