The Moroccan Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and the British Army have joined forces to launch a new edition of «Jbel Sahara 2025» in the Ram-Ram region, near Marrakech. Running until October 17, the joint exercise — first established in 1989 — has become a key annual event for exchanging operational and tactical expertise. According to a statement from the FAR released on Tuesday, it aims to strengthen coordination, planning, and combat readiness through realistic training scenarios that reflect both climatic and operational challenges. This year's edition carries special significance as it marks the 25th anniversary of the bilateral drills. Participating units include the Royal Gendarmerie, the 1st and 2nd Parachute Infantry Brigades of the Royal Armed Forces, and the Royal Gibraltar Regiment of the British Armed Forces. The program features advanced tactical exercises and intensive training in rapid intervention, urban combat, and joint combined-arms maneuvers, further reinforcing the operational synergy between the two nations. These maneuvers coincide with the launch of «Chergui 2025», a separate exercise conducted jointly by the FAR and the French Army near the Algerian border.
