The design phase for Morocco's new generation of integrated territorial development programs will begin next week through broad consultations across the country's 75 provinces, announced Jelloul Samsseme, Wali and Director General of Territorial Collectivities at the Ministry of Interior. Speaking during the first edition of the «MAP Town Hall» forum in Rabat, Samsseme explained that these programs, launched under the directives of King Mohammed VI, will be developed locally through a participatory approach involving citizens, elected officials, administrations, and civil society. The goal, he said, is to craft programs that reflect the real needs of each territory, with implementation expected to begin in early 2026. Mbarka Bouaida, president of the Association of Regions of Morocco, stressed the importance of mobilizing all actors to ensure the success of this development model, in line with the King's vision for advanced regionalization and local governance, especially in rural and mountain areas. Meanwhile, Abderrahim Ksiri, member of the Economic, Social, and Environmental Council (CESE), emphasized Morocco's potential to meet development challenges through projects adapted to each region, leveraging its rich human and natural resources. The MAP Town Hall, a revamped version of the traditional MAP Forum, aims to create a space for dialogue and constructive exchange between policymakers, experts, and development actors to foster a forward-looking and inclusive national debate.
