A tragic chain collision at the entrance to El Jadida on Friday morning left one person dead and 23 others injured with varying levels of severity. The accident occurred on the highway linking El Jadida to Azemmour. The crash was attributed to dense fog, which severely impaired visibility. It involved a total of 29 vehicles, including 10 heavy trucks and 19 smaller vehicles, leading to an almost complete halt of traffic towards El Jadida. Civil defense teams, alongside local authorities and the Royal Gendarmerie, swiftly responded to the scene to secure the area and manage traffic flow. The injured were transported to Mohammed V Regional Hospital for urgent medical care, while the deceased was taken to the morgue. An investigation has been launched by the Royal Gendarmerie, under the guidance of the public prosecutor, to determine the circumstances and details surrounding this incident.
