The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has conducted a nationwide training program in Morocco to strengthen preparations ahead of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025, which opens this December. Organized in coordination with the tournament's Local Organizing Committee (LOC), the program ran from 7 to 14 November and covered all six host cities, CAF said on Sunday. Designed to enhance operational safety and security in line with CAF standards and international best practices, the training aimed to give participants a full understanding of CAF's safety and security requirements. It also offered a platform for the LOC Security Commission to present its Security Concept and hold in-depth discussions with CAF's Safety and Security officials. «The success of the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON Morocco 2025 rests not only on the brilliance of the football on the pitch, but on the invisible strength of safety and security behind every match», said Christian Emeruwa, CAF's Head of Safety & Security. The program brought together key security figures and commanders responsible for emergency and safety operations in each host city. Among them were officials overseeing stadium security, police and gendarmerie units, escort teams, fire brigades, airport and traffic security, as well as auxiliary forces. It also included commanders in charge of TSLO operations, training sites, steward management, hotels, fan zones, and emergency services, along with senior security officials tasked with ensuring the overall safety framework of the tournament.
