DR ‹ › Part of the suspended ceiling of the dome on the landside of Marrakech-Menara Airport collapsed following severe weather marked by heavy rain and strong winds, the National Airports Office (ONDA) said on Friday. In a statement, ONDA said its teams had intervened as soon as the first anomalies were detected, prior to the collapse. A safety perimeter was immediately established to prevent any potential risk and ensure the safe movement of passengers and airport users. According to ONDA, the situation is currently under control. Safety measures remain in place, and the necessary technical operations have been launched to restore the affected area in line with applicable safety standards. Airport operations are continuing normally outside the restricted zone. The Office added that technical investigations are underway and that repair works will begin as soon as possible. It also reaffirmed that the safety of passengers, users, and staff remains its top priority across all airports in the Kingdom.
