DR ‹ › French club Lille OSC announced on Monday that Moroccan international Hamza Igamane will be sidelined for several months after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). In a statement, the club said medical examinations confirmed a rupture of the ACL in the player's right knee. The Moroccan forward sustained the injury on Sunday during the Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Senegal at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. Igamane came on as a substitute in the 98th minute, but was forced to leave the pitch at the end of the first half of extra time after injuring his knee. Lille said it will provide full support to the player throughout his recovery, with the aim of helping him return to action stronger and fully fit alongside his teammates. It is worth noting that Igamane had already suffered an injury a few weeks before the start of AFCON 2025. Despite this, national team head coach Walid Regragui opted to include him in the Atlas Lions' squad as a substitute.
