The port officials stated that «updates will be provided as soon as conditions improve and services resume», advising travelers to «reach out to their shipping company for further information regarding their journey». The General Directorate of Meteorology had previously warned that sea conditions would turn very rough to locally strong, with dangerous wave activity expected along both the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts starting Wednesday afternoon. According to the same source, wave heights are forecast to reach between 4 and 5 meters in the Strait of Gibraltar, and between 3 and 4.5 meters along the Mediterranean coastline from Al Hoceima to Saidia. The most intense wave activity is expected overnight on Wednesday.
