Nasser Bourita at the Peace Council, this Thursday, February 19, 2026. ‹ › Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita took part on Thursday in Washington in the inaugural meeting of the Peace Council dedicated to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, an initiative launched by U.S. President Donald Trump. In his address, the head of Moroccan diplomacy outlined the kingdom's commitments to stabilizing Gaza, in line with the directives of King Mohammed VI. He announced that Morocco has already made a financial contribution to the reconstruction efforts. Rabat also plans to deploy police officers on the ground and provide training for Palestinian security forces, Bourita said. The kingdom will additionally send military officers to join the International Stabilization Force in Gaza, where they will participate in the command structure, and will establish a field military hospital in the territory. Morocco has also expressed its readiness to implement a deradicalization program aimed at combating hate speech and promoting the values of tolerance and coexistence, the minister added. Bourita further praised the «Trump Plan», which includes around twenty measures designed to stabilize Gaza. He concluded by expressing hope that this renewed peace dynamic in the Middle East could pave the way for the realization of the two-state solution.
