DR ‹ › To mark the month of Ramadan, 2M is airing the daily animated series «Maghariba Fi Samae | The Moroccans of the Sky». Produced by Artcoustic, the original series consists of 20 four-minute episodes designed to combine «transmission, memory, and inspiration» within an educational framework. The first season tells the story of Touria Chaoui, the first Moroccan and Arab female pilot. According to a press release, the series will soon also be broadcast on TV5MONDE, reaching more than 430 million households in over 180 countries. The opening episode «begins with a pivotal moment in national history: the return of the late King Mohammed V from exile. In a scene rich in symbolism, Touria Chaoui flies over Moroccan skies, dropping leaflets in tribute to the sovereign, immediately linking her personal journey to a Morocco in transformation», the creators explain. The project aims to «make exceptional Moroccan life stories accessible to younger generations through the visual and narrative language of contemporary animation». Beyond its Ramadan programming, the series seeks to address a longstanding gap. The initiative highlights inspiring Moroccan historical figures «in a media landscape still largely dominated by international content». For the creators, the objective is to «tell inspiring Moroccan biographies through animation, a format particularly well suited to conveying historical narratives».
