DR ‹ › French halal burger chain BiG M has opened its first restaurant in Tangier, marking the start of its expansion into the Moroccan market. The brand aims to «compete with the giants of the sector by combining international standards with local roots», according to a statement. Tangier was chosen as the entry point for the project, which is «driven by local investors» and relies on «an agile operational structure and a 100% Moroccan team». The concept is based on «revisited classic recipes, rigorous halal certification», and pricing adapted to Moroccan purchasing power. The Tangier branch will serve as a «pilot unit» to test the model before expanding to other Moroccan cities. The company also highlights its contribution to the local economy through «direct job creation via structured local recruitment» and the «transfer of European know-how adapted to the Moroccan market».
