DR ‹ › On Wednesday, Austria commended Morocco for its pioneering efforts in crafting a new model of South-South cooperation, underscoring the significance of fostering triangular collaboration between Austria, Morocco, and their partners across the African continent. In a joint statement issued after Nasser Bourita, Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad, concluded his working visit to Vienna at the invitation of Beate Meinl-Reisinger, Austria's Federal Minister for European and International Affairs, Rabat and Vienna emphasized the critical need to enhance cooperation, partnership, and dialogue between the EU and its southern neighbors, as well as within the Euro-African sphere. In this context, Austria expressed its approval of the joint declaration from the 15th EU-Morocco Association Council, which convened in Brussels on January 29, 2026. During this meeting, Morocco and the EU warmly endorsed the Pact for the Mediterranean, launched in Barcelona on November 28, 2025. This pact aims to redefine the relationship between the EU and its southern partners, fostering a partnership rooted in mutual trust and shared responsibility. Additionally, both nations reiterated their commitment to the two-state solution regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, advocating for «two democratic states, Israel and Palestine, to coexist peacefully within secure and recognized borders, in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions».
