Donald Trump's senior advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner is currently visiting Morocco to seek support for the US Israeli-Palestinian peace plan. This visit comes as Bahrain is expected to host in June an international conference on the economic portion of the plan. Senior Advisor to President Donald Trump and his son-in-law Jared Kushner is currently in Morocco to seek support for the United States' Israeli-Palestinian peace plan, American press agency Associated Press reports. Quoting a White House official, the press agency revealed on Tuesday that Kushner, Trump's special envoy for international negotiations Jason Greenblatt and special Iran envoy Brian Hook flew to Morocco to discuss the economic part of the US peace plan, known as the «Deal of Century». The American senior officials will be visiting Jordan and Israel by the end of this week. Kushner's trip comes as the United States is expected to soon unveil the economic portion of its peace plan. On May 20th, the White House announced that the capital of Bahrain will host, on June 25 and 26, an international conference on said matter. Convincing Arab countries of the US peace plan Senior officials from the European Union, the Middle East and Asia, as well as Palestinian investors will be attending the «Peace to Prosperity» economic forum in Manama. United States Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin announced that he is attending the conference in Manama, saying in a statement that he is «looking forward to participating in the discussion». «This workshop will engage leaders from across the entire Middle East to promote economic growth and opportunity for the people in this important region», Mnuchin said. Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh told reporters that «Palestinians were not consulted about the conference». For the record, Morocco has been excluded from negotiations on the «Deal of Century», which was rejected by some countries that advised Arab nations against attending the conference. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar have already announced that they are participating to the conference. Before announcing that they are attending the meeting in Bahrain, these Arab nations were visited by Kushner earlier this year. The US Advisor had also met the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan after flying to the Sultanate of Oman. Morocco, Jordan and the «Deal of Century» Visiting Morocco and then Jordan is a significant step in the plan carried by the United States, knowing that the two Kingdoms share the same opinion on the peace plan. In March, King Abdullah II visited Rabat, where he sought the support of King Mohammed VI, in his capacity as Chairman of Al Quds Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The protection of Jordan's custodianship of Jerusalem's holy sites against the «Deal of the Century» orchestrated by the Trump administration, Israel and some Arab states, was at the heart of this visit. Implementing this «plan» would, indeed, bring drastic changes to the status of Jordan and its custodianship over Christian and Muslim sites in the city of Al Quds. This change would, also, do harm to the prestige of the Hashemite dynasty that has long ruled Mecca and Medina before being bluntly chased by Abdelaziz Ben Saud.
