UK-based transition energy company Sound Energy has signed an exclusive term sheet with renewable specialist Gaia Energy Ltd. to develop up to 270 MW of photovoltaic (PV) solar power projects at multiple sites across Morocco. According to a company statement released on Tuesday, the planned joint venture aims to build solar power sites at ten or more locations near medium voltage (MV) substations in Morocco, making it easier to connect to customers. Gaia has already begun feasibility studies, including solar irradiation measurements, land access evaluations, and grid capacity assessments. Once the joint venture is formalized, the partners will move forward with grid connection applications, regulatory approvals, and power purchase agreement negotiations, the statement added.
